Addressing The “I” In Education
Being entitled as an educated individual becomes a mark of social status for some, while for some, it might be a means to serve the quest of one’s passion. As per research done by top schools, education in India holds an ambiguous definition in terms of what it shall otherwise bring within a child.
Growing up and leaving the bubble of the limited reality of books of school life, one enters that transitional stage of confusion, where one finds it difficult to comprehend the basic skills required in the surreal world.
With the given circumstances of virtual learnings, adopting the pedagogical structure for educating young minds should ideally incorporate a multidisciplinary approach in the absorption of facts and let the child find his or her perspective and voice.
Often textbooks project a confined outlook upon children, which hampers their vision leading them to allocate certain understandings within a limited construct of that particular author. Naturally, anyone would lose or rather won’t be able to develop an interest in any particular topic if that person fails to gain sheer clarity on the basic conceptual understandings.
Generally, as per research done by top boarding school in India, educative institutions play a significant part in emerging out such complexity within children, where they such authorities become the faculties of imposing unnecessary restrictions in terms of their answer structures which should reflect a bookish language in totality and not a word here and there, which makes an educator’s role stand far away from even calling it a task.
This is where the overall essence of education slowly fades away, where the children keep getting tossed for putting up even a rightly perceived concept. The daunting part for someone winning this rat race would be losing your voice in the entire process since they weren’t allowed to voice their original perceptions(if there were any, actually).
The terrifying hidden irony is the fact that someone who won this race, in reality, lost himself. Carrying a sense of self is the basic life skill that these materialistic institutions fail to prosper within the young minds.
Following the introduced pedagogical approach would induce an independent sense of conceiving lessons at their own pace and will. An integrated approach in the subjects taught would help inculcate inclusivity of relevance as they stand differentiated in their definitions but not exclusive for the actual learner.
