Homeschooling is better than traditional schooling
One of the biggest questions I get day-in, day-out is, “should I homeschool my children?” After nine years of homeschooling all three of my children and educating over thirty more students on a one-on-one basis, I’ve learned a lot about teaching children at home. From personal experience, there are many benefits to teaching your child at home. This article focuses on five reasons that explain why homeschooling is better than a traditional school.
From my perspective, homeschooling is an overall positive experience
We do not have enough opportunities to explore our surrounding area. The idea of being caught in a few square miles makes me crave the simplicity of isolation. I’m an old soul and all I want is to experience something different. At home, we can go out and explore the wilderness whenever we want to, getting us closer to nature once again. If we don’t know how to build a fire, or light one without matches, our chances of surviving in the wild are less than those who do.
Homeschooling is better than traditional schooling
I say this as someone who was forced to go to public school. I would have loved to have been homeschooled, but my parents were not interested in this option. So, I suffered through my time at the local schools and vowed that when I had kids of my own, they would be homeschooled.
As per survey done by students of top 10 schools in Bangalore, homeschooling is better than traditional schooling because it offers a more personal setting for your children. In a classroom setting, children are spending their time with 30–40 other kids. They learn the same material at the same time and are given assignments by the same teacher.
This means that students are not getting individualized instruction from an expert in their field of study. When you homeschool, you can teach your child exactly what he or she needs and wants to know to become successful in life.
A homeschooling curriculum should be designed around the needs and goals of each student. You can create your own or purchase a curriculum that fits your family’s lifestyle and desired academic goals for your child. A study by Dr Brian D. Ray suggests that nearly one million children in the United States are homeschooled and that number is steadily growing each year.
