schools in India

Schools in India have been divided into the following stages.

PreSchool/ Kindergarten ( LKG and UKG )
The Pre-School system is designed to guide your child in a structured environment. It provides equal focus on academic as well as non-academic areas. System has integrated children development and academic goals. It encourages holistic, balanced growth of students. This stage also sets the ground for a child’s cognitive development and so learning is mixed with other activities so that children can learn to properly use their motor skills.

Primary Education(Lower) ( Classes 1 to 4 )
Primary education in India is a basic form of education for children which mainly aims to impart first-grade reading and numeracy skills along with elementary knowledge of many other subjects and also to equip the students with basic life skills. It aims to ensure that children learn to read and write and master basic arithmetic competences within this period. During these years the curriculum will gradually shift from foundation literacy skills like Braille (for visually-impaired children) to learning how to read and write in the student’s native language. Through a process called transition, the first four years of primary education also aim to establish in students habits of study and good discipline.

Primary Education or Middle School (Upper)(Classes 5 to 7 )
Here in this class the child starts thinking about his future. The children are given an opportunity to develop their skills and become good members of their community.

High School Education ( Classes 8–10 )
Classes 8–10 presents the curriculum in a student friendly way, with an objective of developing professional knowledge and character in students, that any teacher will take pride to pass on the knowledge he/she has gained, so that it becomes easier for the learner to develop professionally, enabling him or her to face the challenges head on with confidence.

Senior Secondary Education (Classes 11th and 12th)
The first year of secondary education is mostly common for all the three streams (Arts, Commerce and Science) and only the second, third and fourth years are different for each stream. Majority of the schools are affiliated with either Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) or Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). Not only the stream, in each board the syllabus differs too.

Undergraduate (Bachelor’s 3–4 years)
In the undergraduate degree program students will encounter a variety of courses that are designed to sharpen your communication, critical thinking, and quantitative analysis skills. This stage lays down the basis for your career.

Postgraduate (Masters 2–3 years)
Students will receive a strong grounding in the key areas of a range of subjects, with opportunities to develop knowledge and skills in particular areas of interest to them.
