Which are the top 5 ICSE and CBSE schools for boys and girls in India?
So, you have known your child’s future academic destination and are looking for some good schools in India. There are two major types of school systems in India — the State Board Schools and the ICSE, and CBSE schools. Both systems have their pros and cons, but you don’t want to deal with confusion right? There is a lot of information available on this topic that you can easily find on the internet. But as a parent, would you want to read thousands of websites trying to identify the best schools for your child? Why not get all information at once from experienced parents & experts rather than wasting time on the internet?
Doing an ICSE or CBSE exam can be a great learning experience, however, it’s not as simple as all students can sit for the same exams. Some schools will let only their top students take the exam while others might have different classes based on their subjects. In this article, I’m going to present a list of 5 schools that went above and beyond with their results.
Types of schools in India
India has some of the world’s most prestigious universities. With thousands of educational institutes and more than one lakh courses, India is a leading country in terms of higher education.
In addition to being one of the largest countries in terms of population, India also boasts one of the largest educational systems in the world. Education is a fundamental right of every child in India and, as such, both public and private sectors are required to provide basic primary education.
With thousands of colleges and over one lakh courses, a plethora of educational institutions, both government-owned and privately run, exist within the nation to serve students irrespective of caste, creed, or religion.
The Indian education system is categorized into different levels:
* Primary Education (Nursery (Pre-K), LKG (Pre-primary), UKG (Lower Kindergarten), Class 1st to Class 5th)
* Middle Education (Class 6th to Class 8th)
* Secondary Education (Class 9th and 10th)
* Senior Secondary Education (Class 11th and 12th)
* Higher Secondary Education/Pre University/Junior College/Intermediate(XI & XII Standard)
* Graduation/Under Graduation — BA BSc BCom etc.
There are four types of school boards in India
1. State Boards: Almost every state has its school board, and most of the schools in the state are affiliated with it. The syllabus and curriculum taught in these schools are approved by the state government.
2. CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education): This is the most popular board in India and has schools in almost every part of the country. The syllabus and curriculum taught in CBSE-affiliated schools are decided by the central government.
3. ICSE(Indian Certificate of Secondary Education): This national-level board is conducted by CISCE (Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations). In comparison to other boards, this board is considered one of the toughest as it focuses more on theoretical concepts as compared to practical experiments.
4. International Schools: International schools are private schools that follow a particular curriculum other than the local curriculum. International schools offer international baccalaureate, Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), or Edexcel. While many ex-pats in India send their children to international schools, many Indian nationals choose this option. These schools can provide children with a global education that can help them later on in their careers if they want to work abroad.
If you are looking for an international school for your child you need to first decide what curriculum you want your child to study. There are many International Baccalaureate (IB) schools in India, which is a globally recognized program of education. The IB program is aimed at students aged 3–19 and is taught in more than 146 countries with more than one million students studying the program worldwide. The Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) is another popular choice among international schools and is recognized by universities across the world as well as many employers around the world.
